A holiday food drive in Santa Cruz, California got a boost from a local medical marijuana dispensary. According to reports, the Second Harvest Food Bank was struggling to collect food for the hungry until the Granny Purps Marijuana Dispensary decided to lend a hand. The dispensary offered a special promotion to encourage donations – medical patients would receive one free pre-rolled joint for every four cans of food donated.
Thanks to the power of pot, the dispensary was soon inundated with food, which they passed along to the Second Harvest Food Bank. According to Granny Purps’ co-owner, the dispensary ended up receiving nearly 12,000 pounds of food.
