Authorities said the dispensaries were “believed to be operating in violation of the state’s medical marijuana law.”
Operating a dispensary in Michigan became much more difficult after a state Supreme Court decision in February that found patient-to-patient sales of medical pot were against the law. In order to obtain medical marijuana patients must be accompanied by a caregiver.
During the raids cops seized marijuana, edibles, financial records, surveillance cameras, and cash.
All three dispensaries that were raided last Wednesday were back in operation by Friday. Prosecutors are currently examining evidence and charges against the businesses haven’t been ruled out.
