Issue #420
Mon, Jun 29, 2009 5:18 pm
This weekend, the venerable political talk show known as the McLaughlin Group took up the issue of marijuana legalization as one of its weekly, numbered topics. Crazy doesn’t begin to describe the hysterical screaming match that this show typically devolves into, but for some reason, when the subject turns to Mary Jane, everybody—left and right—seems to agree that it’s time to legalize.
Maybe if they started next week’s show by passing a fattie around the roundtable, we could look forward to a bit more civilized discourse on the politics of the day.

Am I losin it?
He said, "RI is the third state to legalize the sale for medical purposes, behind NM and CA?" His speach is hard to understand, but I listened 3 times. He doesn't slur his words that bad. I think they definately need to address their err next week. Or better explain what the hell the other 11 states are doin. Jesus, this is Washinton's best?
Here I am looking for a job in horticulture in Oregon or Washington, New Mexico if you build my canal.
What about the other 11 states? They "illegally" sell for medical purposes? Or are they sellin recreational already, and here I sit in fuckin FL?

The U.S. government agencies who have commanded the drug war have been violent enemies of marijuana producers and consumers for decades. It is widely known that marijuana is a huge cash cow, the country is in a recession and desperate for income, and now the government (whichever one... state/local/federal/doesn't matter) decides it wants a share of the pie. I say FORGET IT. If marijuana is legalized and heavily taxed, then I have no intention of participating in that market. There will remain a black market for producers and consumers of this vital commodity, they will have lower prices than legal channels, and I will support the free market.
DO THE MORAL THING: LEGALIZE IT AND DON'T TAX IT!

Let the closet smokers come out, its uncomfortable in there.
Let the wannabies smoke by removing fear of the dreaded urine test & more.
Let the new smokers enjoy by way of accurate information and Truth.
Let the growers grow, for the group above.
Let the farmers farm, make use of hemp as possible fuel & more.
Let the people profit instead of pay, w/respect to the green star herb.
Let the lies become the past.
Let Truth & Peace take its place.

A step by step approach allows/expediates change. Some form of regulation will do this, who does the regulating is the question. (Get involved)
Hemp is the goldmine biproduct, that needs more attention.

1. WE dont need the fed govet in this issue, PERIOD. Those motherfuckers cant even regulate themselves. Do we really want them telling us how strong our weed can be?
2. These dipshits want to tax the shit out of it and make it expenseive as all hell so as to discourage use...so much for getting rid of the black market(crime).
Who's gonna go to the store to get "FDA approved" weed for lets say $500 an ounce, when you can get an ounce of really good stuff for $300. It kills me that you beg for them to tax and regulate it blindly without considering the consequences of such a policy.
whats up twitches
