HIGH TIMES INTERVIEW: Rick Steves
Thu, Feb 05, 2009 11:57 am
For the past 30 years, celebrated travel author and television host Rick Steves has shown Americans how to travel smart through his numerous guidebooks, website and PBS series Rick Steves Europe. But beyond that, Steves has become one of the nations most outspoken celebrity advocates for marijuana legalization. HIGH TIMES editor Bobby Black caught up with this adventurer-turned-activist in his home state of Washington, after his speech at the 2008 Seattle Hempfest to get his view on the state of the drug war in America.

As funny as stoner stereotypes are (I still love "Half Baked" and the Cheech and Chong films, Seth Rogan's stuff, etc.) we need more smokers like Steves, Harrison Ford, Martha Stewart et al, to get the word out that not all of us are mindless glassy-eyed giggly freaks.
These are the people who will blaze a trail to legalization.
Thanks Rick, for standing up and speaking out!
