History of the Cannabis Cup Part One

Over the next few weeks, as the annual HIGH TIMES Cannabis Cup draws closer, this site will be posting a series of videos detailing the history of the world's most famous marijuana harvest festival.


This first episode describes how HIGH TIMES magazine was born out of the Sixties counterculture revolution by a visionary named Thomas King Forcade. Although the first few Cannabis Cups were private affairs, after the event was opened to the public, founder Steve Hager made an attempt to ground the Cup in counterculture spirituality in order to remain true to Forcade's vision.


Forcade is being inducted into the Counterculture Hall of Fame in Amsterdam this year.

she weighs only 20 pounds
