Sad but true

Nov 13 2008, 7:28 pm

yeah it is sad when we as americans can, for the most part agree on important issues like not arresting ill people for using pot but the dems and repubs are not true americans they are the most fucked up people who figured out how to control a nation of people and fuck us all over. I was just at CHANGE.GOV obamas new site and when i searched for marijuana 0 results, drugs 0 results and war on drugs got 18 hits and not one said A FUCKING THING ABOUT THE WAR ON DRUGS. I mean fuck, these are important issues. FUCK OBAMA FUCK ALL THE DEMS AND REPUBLICS except ron paul and kucinich and some others.

though old toker saddens me with his comment i fear he is right but as americans i can not stress this enough the right american is always in office as are constition states are system of government is self soverienty, that means we rule ourselves and so the president only represents us and therefor it is us and not the president who has the power to change our government. so as long as we are americans we can make the change and any president is the right president to do it

trust me in four years after americans boot obama out the pot laws will not have changed any at all. they will still be the same. he's not going to change anything. he might socialize our nation and bring it further down, but no pot laws will change. you need true american parties in there to do that.

There is enough evidence to support the statement that moderate alcohol use makes people healthier and makes them live conger compared to non-drinkers or heavy drinkers. It lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease.

To those who think alcohol use is dangerous - it can be, but quit painting alcohol as demonic. That is misleading and is the same tactic prohibitionists use.

All I know is, marijuana is less harmful than alcohol...people have died from alcohol overdose, ever see a pot overdose? I grow in my home, for my husband and I, I smoke in my home, not hurting anyone. I suffer from many medical conditions that allows me to carry a medical card, which I got through my state government. I am no longer addicted to prescription drugs (ie. Oxycontin, Methadone and even vicodin that doctors willingly and freely handed out...I was like a zombie!) How much money does the government spend preventing people from smokin' some weeds...by the way, anybody can grow it for themselves. Where's the crime?
I happily voted for Barry. I feel he will help make a difference. Everyone needs to voice their opinion to the leaders of their states. We have to start somewhere!

Way cool. Decriminalize it. Ever heard of anyone smokin some killer and wanting to go rob a bank? Get real pigs. I hope Obama sets the tone. Bong out! Obama!

i agree

Nov 11 2008, 2:47 pm

i mean yeah, any penalty for smoking buds is fucking stupid, but here in nebraska if ur caught with under an ounce its a hundred dollar fine. i know a guy who has had over 10 possesion charges, all under an ounce and has never served a second in jail becuase of it. so just keep up the fight becuase lets be realistic there is no way they can stop it. with roots embedded in mother earths soil, REALIZE IT LEGALIZE IT...... ImA get ya soooo hiiiighhh, fina make that ass flyyyy

Just a response to some of those people that thing they have it so hard smoking in the US. I would like to say that i grew up in the US and am now taking a year abroad to study in england, and i have found it much more difficult to find pot, and much more of a risk to smoke pot. Although there is the common perception that cops and other law enforcement around Europe dont give a shit, you still face the same risk of arrest as you would in many states in the USA. However, unlike the United States, and Amsterdam, I have yet to go to a country that has marijuana laws as liberal as we do in the US. I highly doubt that the US is pulling the strings in these other countries since we most often cannot even get them to help us in a peace keeping campaign, or for example with the iraq war. (just a statement not saying i approve or disapprove the war so dont start ranting about that shit Marijuana in the United states has taken amazing steps forward, while in the UK where it is currently classified in a way that you may recieve a small fine and a slap on the wrist, is about to take a step backward and become a class B drug, resulting in jail time. So to say that the US is leading this war on drugs and holding every nation back is beyond false, and in fact it may be one of the most progressive countries in terms of its medical marijuana initiative. We dont have it so bad in the US and i must say i do miss the easy access and little fear i have when i indulge

well in massachusetts its been decrim under an ounce. i think thats pretty cool
anyone else??

Nov 10 2008, 4:52 pm

look up the u.n.'s stance on pot. remember we are a nation with a perminent seat on the u.n. the best we can hope for is they go like amsterdam. it's still illegal, but they don't enforce it.

like i said it is a pipe dream if you think obama is ganna have any affect on pot laws.he's not going to do anything at all about them. my job doesn't allow me to toke up. wish i could. $25.00 a hour says i don't, so i don't.

the libertarian party is the party we need to vote for. obama's ganna raise everybodies taxes. McCaine would have followed bush's path. niether party is worth a shit. now the libertarian party is great. smaller government, lower taxes, stop the wars on drugs, lesser gun restiction laws( the 2nd amendment was put in place to protect us from a corrupt government. what do we have now and the democratic party want to take your guns. don't be fooled), and more personal freedoms. you know. the stuff our nation was based on.

dump the democrats and republicans both!!!! get new parties in there that want to do what the people want. not what the parties want!!!

if obama or McCaine is the answer it must have been one hell of a stupid question!!!!

As recently as Monday of this week, his campaign said: "Many states have laws that condone medical marijuana, but the Bush Administration is using federal drug enforcement agents to raid these facilities and arrest seriously ill people. Focusing scarce law enforcement resources on these patients who pose no threat while many violent and highly dangerous drug traffickers are at large makes no sense. Senator Obama will not continue the Bush policy when he is president."

If you people can't recognize this for the breath of fresh air it is, then I don't know what else to tell you. Google it Holmes!

Let's not forget that the biggest change may occur in other countries. The US govt, run by conservative fanatics, would pressure any country that attempted cannabis liberalization. Loans would be called in or not granted, weapons sales held up, sanctions imposed or threatened etc. A number of countries have considered decrim or legalization, but felt that the pressure and bullying from Washington was too much to bear. We imposed our ignorance on the rest of the world, and I would expect an Obama administration to take a different tack. If a nation like Columbia wants to decrim or legalize pot- let them do so without US interference.

I fully expect that any nation could decide its own policy on this matter in the future. Other countries should tell tha US govt to fuck off. America is the sole driving and sustaining force behind global Pot Prohibition. It can't go on forever, and it certainly won't.

marijuana will be legalized eventually whether its the democrats that do it or the republicans its a racist issue and it still is and we as americans need to change our drug policiesconcerningallthe issuesregarding marijuana our war on drugs is a failure all the way down the board hey they said we would never have a black president we have one now wake up people change is on the way.and they should have lit up at the presidential election im for it those people are celebrating and exercising their freedoms what ever happen to pursuit of happiness in this great country of ours

big deal

Nov 9 2008, 11:14 pm

So what, so he smoked pot before. He still became president of the Harvard Law Review and graduated from Harvard Law School. Ummm, how about you Chris? Chris Matthews is a toady whore.

Nov 9 2008, 8:49 pm

this is all bullshit. if you want real change you wouldn't have put either one of the dipshits that ran in office. when will you all open your eye's and look around. the dem's and rep's have been in control for how many years? what have they done for us?

the libertarian party is the party we all as americans need to be backing. they want to call a end to the war on drugs becuase it's a failure as we all know. i don't smoke anymore or grow. but i do like to look and see what is going on on here.

everybody needs to run a search on google for the libertarian party and spread the word about them. we need all new parties in congress and the white house. these 2 parties are nothing more than a joke that we have in there now.

obama will not be able to keep all the out landish promisses he made. wait till you see what happens to the middle class in taxes. they aren't called the tax and spend party for nothing. the republicans are no fucking better. the libertarian party is where it is all at. LOOK THEM UP PEOPLE!! SPREAD THE WORD!!!!

Nov 9 2008, 7:40 pm

I dont see why everybody is goin apeshit over obama, he is not going to do anything to benefit the marijuana smokers except MAYBE end the federal raids on ill patients. And I do mean maybe. Remember when G dubs said "States Rights"..... BULLSHIT. Just wait and see it will be politics as usual and we prolly wont be seeing any resemblace of Amsterdam in America, no matter how much you potheads whine.

FINK

Nov 9 2008, 3:24 am

when i found out obama's ideals on cannabis i was euphoric, then lit up a bowl as a cheers. i have a good feeling the ways of marijuana will finally change towards what we would all love. either way we're still going to keep on blazing, i just hope to see the day everyone can realize how odd and amusing the laws on this plant really are. maybe we should just get them stoned a time or two and see if they still see things their way.

Obama will allow medical marijuanaa use, but it will not be an immediate concern. It will be an issue when the 420 celebration and he will leave it to the individual states to decide. It's only a concern for the daily smoker, not someone who is not currently smoking and older

Les

Nov 7 2008, 3:26 pm

Another thing that can come to an end in the new political era is us being on the defensive. In politics, as in polemics, the best defense is a counter-attack.

If someone suggests a war on us, then we should demand a war on poverty.

If someone doesn't like medical marijuana clubs, let's demand universal health insurance coverage!

It someone suggests more and more jail for the likes of us, then we should demand that our CEO, Wall Street, oil and insurance pimps all be invesitgated as criminals and sent to the gulag!

When addressing or engaging those who would feed us to the dogs, always change the subject and turn the table on them. Raise the issues that they don't want to hear about!

I'm full of hatred and anger! Millions have had their lives ruined for no good reason. We can and should fight back!

Les

Nov 7 2008, 2:33 pm

The new administration can decide whether it wants the Justice Dept to prosecute medical clubs or not. The new president gets to appoint judges. A lot can change! The laws may stay on the books, but it's also a question of how badly will they want (or don't want) to enforce them.
If the Feds stop prosecuting and threatening states that allow medical pot and medical clubs, the phenomenon will spread to all 50 states eventually.

If the Republicans and the conservatives don't like us, they can go kill themselves or move to another country! All they did for 50 years is wage war on us and act like Nazis!

Barack Obama may smoke a little, but that doesn't excuse the rest of his policies. He does not wish us well. just wait you'll see. i know i sound like a freak, but i've got a strong feeling bout this one, and a little evidence too.

As a conservative republican, I felt I had to vote for Obama because we do need change and hopefully he'll help lead the way. Maybe the next repubican can admit that and help express our freedom. I tried marijuana long before alcohol and the first time I drank I couldn't believe marijuana was illegal in comparison.
