DEA Raids a Cannabis Dispensary
Thu, Mar 26, 2009 12:37 pm
A week after the Attorney General defended state-sanctioned medical marijuana, federal agents raid a cannabis collective in San Francisco.
Angry protestors filled the street outside Emmalyn's California Cannabis Clinic in San Francisco on Wednesday, chanting “DEA: Go Away” and asking agents why they were raiding a medical marijuana dispensary less than a week after the US Attorney General claimed the federal government would no longer target patients and providers in compliance with state law.
DEA officials responded by indicating that the facility was in fact in violation of California state law, but provided no details to support this claim, which the dispensary owners disputed.

things are going so wrong for them. After years of wringing
their hands and crying about the children, someone finally informed them that it was their responsibility too educate their children and not ours.
We are well on our way to legal pot,and we may get a boost from the g-20 conference. Rumor has it that the South American
representatives are going to ask the U.S. too stop the war on drugs and to keep their policemen and anti-drug money within their own borders. That ought to raise some eyebrows.

Think about it, if this place was in violation of a state law, the local police would've been the ones doing the busting, not the DEA.

PLEASE: Give legalization a chance, it might be the answer to alot of the problems we've been dealing with for over 40 years. Unless you really don't want to solve any problems you just want to have a group of people to subpress and destory. You've tried everything else, and nothing has worked, why not give legalization a chance.

You all should really watch The Obama Deception, on YouTube. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAaQNACwaLw
Ha, I fully support the legalization of cannabis, but the thing is: even if they DO legalize it, that will only be a move to appease and distract you while they take more and more of your freedoms away, and increase the debt that we the taxpayers have to pay back.
So, don't mistake any legalization effort by the Federal Government as a good thing. It needs to come from the States up. The Federal Government is the most corrupt organized-crime-syndicate that ever existed.

But for some reason, I think at least some people who have been arested for posession in the past, myself included would be willing to forgive and forget should they overturn the laws. Granted, I didn't serve years in prison and don't have a permanent felony record, but still.
A lot of people are getting the wrong impression when it comes to the new decision on medical marijuana and marijuana dispenseries. It's not a change in law, it's a change in policy. They are basically saying they will do what they should have done all along; uphold the tenth ammendment of the U.S. constitution and not overturn state laws that don't directly violate the constitution. But if they feel a dispensery is overstepping it's bounds and being too liberal with the marijuana and basically just acting as a front for a drug dealing business, they will shut it down because that also violates state law. Seeing as how this decision was made in Obama's first ninety days in office, it seems to be a way of distancing himself from the former administration's tactics of ignoring laws and due process, the same as him closing down the prison in Guantanamo Bay. It is a good thing, but it's more like a catch up to where we should be than a real step forward. As far as the Obama administration actually legalizing marijuana outright, I agree with the other post that I can't really see that happening. Although Obama does seem to be the most receptive to the idea and the most likely to do so since Clinton, there are just too many things standing in his way. Keep in mind that the president couldn't just make that decision on his own. It would have to go through congress first and it would take a perfect alignment of the stars to make it happen.
That's why instead of waiting around for uncle sam to give us the o.k., I think it's a much better idea to try to legalize it on the state level since we don't have to worry about the feds overturning or overlooking those laws. I would first like to see each state individually vote it in for medicinal reasons so that the people who actually need it can get it before the people who just want it. That should be far easier to accomplish because if it is recognized for it's medicinal value in some states ( California, Alaska, Hawaii, etc.) it should be recognized in all states. You can't tell me that it only helps patients in those states or that only they deserve that medicine. In fact, on Larry King live last night, Montell Williams, who has M.S. and uses cannabis, mentioned that for thirty years the government has been growing and supplying marijuana to only a handful of patients in the country (originally 25, now just 5 as the rest have passed away). This weed is U.S.D.A. approved. That's right, the same drug that is classified as a schedule 1 drug meaning it has "no recognized or accepted medicinal value" is distributed by the government as medicine. So who is to say only they deserve it? So let's get it legalized state by state for medicinal purposes first. I think after you do that, people will start to see that it isn't as bad as they have thought and then the governers would be more receptive to propositions for legalizing recreational use. Remember people, this is a government for the people and by the people. So let's show the lawmakers that this is what we want.

There's what, tens of thousands of unpopulated islands in the world? The only thing that keeps anyone from getting there and living their lives truly free is the fact that the same society that won't let us smoke up has also made sure we depend on the system and wouldn't be able to survive without a blockbuster and a grocery store on every corner...well most of us anyway.

But everyone could go to their county seat,to the courthouse and ask to speak to the sheriff of your county, and carry signs
and chant slogans. If we can coordinate it too happen at the same time, even the government can't ignore that many walking, talking voters Back too the 60's one more time, watch for further developments and announcements by MPP and possibly
NORML. To steal a phrase,we can do this.

they just continue down the same path, doing the same thing to their own people, that hasn't worked. Where is the learning curve. When will enough be enough? If the cartels whip the mexican government troops, they will be the government there.
And to make peace,we'll have to rebuild Mexico. All I see ahead
for the tax payers is more money for more prisons and a very
large population in our prison system. Soon, there will be more people in prison than out.

They must have cried today when they watched the online town hall, and Obama laughed at the question of doing anything pro-active for marijuana.
HE IS JUST ANOTHER PUPPET.
Its moments like today when you can really see the strings.
Marijuana, gay marriage, etc, will never be legal unless the Masters pulling the strings find a need for it.

My concern is Mr. Holder's statement that pot clubs will only be raided if they are violating federal and state law. Whom is to say that a particular club is violating state law? Is the DEA then required to get a warrant from a state court? If the DEA, as a federal agency is allowed to say that a club or co-op is violating state law and not required to obtain a warrant, then the DEA can continue to act unabated by Mr. Holder's statement.
My other concern is that the DEA will not disclose to the attorney representing the club, what state laws the club was violating. My wish is that NORML will step in and along with their attorney affect real change in an ill conceived policy.
Best Regards to all,
Jeff

It's just was easier to pick on the peacefull amongst us,that's all, they are pussies.
Sorry, but our federal government ought to be ashamed of themselves, but they're not.
They should just drop prohibition of marijuana alltogether.
You know,if they accually caught every single person who posessed and used marijuana yesterday, and charged them all with a crime, our court systems would be so backed up,it wouldn't even be funny.
You can't have that many people all believing that they're felons, after a wile, they're gonna all start acting the part too.
Theres too many of us to shut up,theyres too many of us to all fit in theyre jails,I don't care how much room they make,if they caught us all at the same time,it would be rediculous.
