HIGH TIMES Creates 5/20

Now that 4//20 has become a globally recognized high holiday, known even to those who don’t indulge in Mary Jane, HIGH TIMES proposes that the true stoners among us start celebrating on 5/20 in secret.

Think about it, pretty soon marijuana will be legalized and we’ll all start to get just a little bit nostalgic for the outlaw appeal of a discreet toke.

Appearing last night on Fox News' “Red Eye,” a HIGH TIMES editor explains the staff’s plans to spend the day “relaxing” in Central Park.

Why bash Fox News? I have heard more positive comments for ending prohibition on that channel recently than any other.

Just this morning on Fox and Friends they mentioned the debate of legalizing marijuana without condemning it. For anyone following this issue, this is a big deal. The stereotype is beginning to be questioned.

The Glenn Beck program (on Fox) has discussed in the past couple of months the idea of re-legalizing marijuana.

If you want to achieve the goal of ending prohibition, I think you will get there quicker by engaging conservatives (like me) in constructive discourse instead of venting.

Conservatives and Republicans still have a long way to go to change their minds on this issue, but movement is underway. I changed my mind a few months ago.

And no, I don't consume any illegal substances. I want prohibition to end primarily because it has caused tremendous harm to America and Americans.

Nice video I like the FOX coverage. Why would it need to be a monthly holiday you jokes, most cannabis enthusiast consume it daily anyways. Holidays come once a year or they wouldn't be holidays they would be just another day. There's only One Easter, One Christmas, One 4th of July, etc. ... and to the tomato comment/what if situation, if tomato's caused a intoxicating effect(such as the ones we enjoy from cannabis) they'd probably be illegal too.

Why don't celebrate January 14:th, for the first San Francisco Be-in in Golden Gate Park in 1967.

I think that was the point that got all eyes focused on the counterculture, for good or bad, from what I read.

4/20 isn't about just smoking weed.
For me, 4/20 is about abandoning all responsibilities in a responsible way. I start planning weeks in advance to make sure there is nothing to do on that day but indulge.

Like a mental vacation day - screw the bills, taking the day off, not getting dressed 'till noon, smoking a bong in the shower kind of a day.

I like it, I will celebrate 5/20. I also like the idea of the 20th of every month, but if you celebrate something too often it loses the novelty. Say if you only had to wait a month between each birthday it wouldn't be all that exciting after a while.

We need to make them see that we r just indulging in the Lord's gift to us. Its not like we are goin nuts for the man-made crap. Ours just grow like that. Wat if tomatoes got you high? Wen they arrest u for eating your salad at ur favorite resteraunt, would they sentence u dependn on how many slices were served with or wud u get a plea bargain n onli b sentenced dependin on how many bites u took out of it.. Oo maybe we could get let off if we push the dredful thing away n ate a tomatoeless salad.. JUST LET US B..

why not focus on every month on the 20th. Have a national celebration and make EVERYONE realize that people are gonna partake in recreation so get used to it. Maybe then politicians will realize that the absurd laws we have are just that....ABSURD!!!!
