4/20 in Boulder, Colorado

See if everyone was drinking at this event, like that guy said on the video, there would be voilence and fights & etc.... but what people dont understand its a peacefull drug that makes you happy, feel good, be extra social, it just makes you feel good, and it doesnt blurr your vision like alcohol does. Alcohol causes accidents everyday on the road, domestic violence, anywhere and all Marijuana does is give more bussiness to fast food restaurants and whoever sells food, lol. Its a peacefull drug, and it does'nt make you forget what you've done or to even forget what your doing, but alcohol when you drink a certain amount u can be unconciously making a fool out of yourself or doing things you would NEVER do if you sober, weed even if you smoked blunts after blunts there is no way you'll forget where your at, or have blurry vision, or even sleep with someone you would'nt sleep with if you were sober. Alcohol also is the cause of so many women getting raped!, because there so drunk they dont know right from wrong, does marijuana do this? EXACLY, is freaking DOESNT!!!.... SO "USA" ITS TIME TO REALIZE MARIJUANA is not EVEN AS CLOSE to being as dangerious as ALCOHOL... So if they dont want to LEGALIZE MARIJUANA, then they should BAN & ILLEGALIZE ALCOHOL, because it just doesnt make sence if they dont legalize it when we have a drug thats alot worse and is ADVERTISED ALLL OVER the television and football games, sports etc.... What is going on? How come MARIJUANA is not LEGAL yet???...

I was there and this video does not remotely represent what 4/20 boulder stands for. For such a great magazine, this video was atrocious.

4/20 was started by farmers of hemp. This is around the time of year to start growing in most places, that is unless you grow hydroponicly. The farmers would also smoke some bud when they planted their first fields.

It will take the common sense of the people who watch the video to remember that this video covers college graduates and undergraduates and shouldn't be cast across the sick, sad, and soccer moms who also enjoy a toke now an then. I am a senior in college myself and I know that is probably how I would love to relax with my good friends too.

But yes, "WHY?", this video could be as harmful as it is entertaining, depending on who watches it.

You have a good point "by comparison." There is really nothing wrong with that video in and of itself. Its just people having a good time. And yes if all those people were drunk it would be way more out of control. My only fear is that it plays in to the "nightmare" scenario of all those prohibitionist fantasies. I can just see them running the video in the middle of a hearing on legalizing marijuana. Oh well. We shall see. It may be no big deal.

This event could be compared to Mardi Gras (which I am not against), where everyone drinks and has a good time. But I know I have watched a few "Cops - Mardi Gras Edition" where people were cuffed left and right for indecent exposure, fighting, sexual abuse, disorderly conduct, etc.

Yes, this video feeds back into the stereotype of a the propaganda-version of a stoner, but at the same time it shows that we don't need to be kicking in the doors of cannabis users and putting them in jail. Clearly we can see that there is no Refer Madness at play here and that's the message 4-20 helps bring to the surface.

Wow those kids seemed violent and out of control! They really showed why marijuana is and should be illegal. If only the mainstream media could see this... pot would never become legal. These events need to be shown to everyone so more people can see the positive difference in a group of stoners vs. drinkers. Legalize It.
