Reason.tv was outside the Los Angeles courtroom where Charles Lynch was sentenced to 366 days in prison for operating a medical marijuana dispensary in Morro Bay, California.

Here is the reaction from Charles and defense attorney Reuven Cohen, who says, “I really think that you’re now looking at, if not the last, then certainly the penultimate … medical marijuana dispensary prosecution in the United States. I think we’re pretty much done. This is an injustice and I think everyone has gotten the message.”

I went to a party in l.a in a bad nbor hood for the super bowl with about 100 people in a back yard.THere were some thugs and some normal people. Ther was not one fight or issue all the weed you could smoke maid for very happy and relaxed crowd. imagine that the same thong the indians had to smoke with the cowboys for peace. weed is by far much safer than aclhol

NO ONE deserves to go to jail for marijuana! Especially not a man who is distributing pot to sick people to help ease their pain and stimulate their appetite! The DEA should be on trial, not this man! I know a sure as I am sitting here in Denver, CO that eventually pot WILL be legal! I don't dare to hope that the drug "warriors" will eventually be forced to answer for their crimes in a Nueremeberg-style proceeding, but hopefully, ten or twenty years down the road, we will see no criminal penalties for simple growing and possession.

It's a small victory in some ways, but they still took his life away. The guy is practically homeless now.

The DEA are the real criminals. Let us never ever forget that. They took Charles' life away. They are responsible for this horrible injustice. This could be any one of us dealing with what they have done.

The DEA are irresponsible and anti-American in every way imaginable.

It's time to take our Country back. Call your state representatives and let them know you are in support of medical marijuana and the decriminalization / taxation of marijuana. We can get this Country out of the economic mess it's in by regulating and taxing MJ.
