Anderson Cooper Visits The Farmacy
Tue, Jun 16, 2009 2:05 pm
In the latest case of mainstream media devoting airtime to our favorite plant, Anderson Cooper is highlighting marijuana use in the US all this week in a special report “America’s High: The Case For and Against Pot.”
Here’s a little sample from the first installment in which Cooper visits The Farmacy, a Los Angeles dispensary, where he learns about strains, edibles and the difference between indica and sativa.
CNN will have more pot in primetime all this week at 10pm EST.

I'm the one who needs to be shown, cuz weed saved my life on many occasions not to mention it helps me function in my everyday life.
I'm a concrete finisher in Oklahoma, it's dawn til done, every day no matter how I feel. I wake up at 5 o'clock everyday, even weekends, I smoke enough to get me relaxed but not high. Then im out the door by six.
I work in 105 degrees and 100 percent humidity on a daily basis, and what gets me through the day? those 4 or 5 hits I take in the morning.
I'm physically fit, smart as hell, and I've got a memory that is amazing.
I'm pretty low on the totem pole as far as the government goes, but I wish i could show the world what the new image of weed should be.
it motivates, relaxes, and gives me the extra sense of calm that I need to get through the day!
great stuff people!
Don't be scared, the laws aren't scary if you get to know your legal rights! Don't be afraid to speak out for the plant we all know and love.
peace and love

We've gotta spread the message past our own kind... we have been yelling these same messages at each other for years, and I think it's time we shifted strategy and actively try to appeal to those who are still too afraid to speak out.
Talk to your neighbors, and rather than blurting out a million facts, quotes and statistics all at once, actively and thoroughly listen to them to understand what it is they fear from our medicinal and spiritual plant.
9 times out of 10, they fear the sub-culture (i.e. perceptions of dirty people, violence, gangs, robbery and theft, etc...).
If we can change that perception, we can win.
Just remember that if nothing changes, nothing changes and change ALWAYS starts with you.

Wouldn't keeping a lower profile be more productive from a legal point?
Like for example little black and white stickers with names like "Sativa/Indica hybrid" or whatever, instead of glossy pictures with cannabis leaves with fancy names.
I doubt they need fancy marketing to sell the product anyway.

It is exposure like this that will help bring about change, and I have got people, local townspeople, that have known for years that I smoke pot, asking ME about medical uses for marijuana. I just guide them to the medical marijuana site where they can check to see if marijuana would or could help them with their afflictions, since Texas has no medical marijuana laws. The closest we have come is a bill allowing Doctors to prescribe marijuana for cancer patients and
such, without losing their license. And that hasn't made it past the medical board yet,but hope they are watching all the activity and getting a crash course in the medical uses for marijuana.
