Since 1974, HIGH TIMES magazine has reported on marijuana in all its aspects and wonders, covering this most fascinating plant, and the people who love it, with an eye towards politics, cultivation, connoisseurship, culture, travel, activism, and advocacy. Now, for the first time, we’re proud to present an all-new magazine dedicated to medical cannabis patients and providers nationwide, particularly those living in the 14 states (and growing) with laws protecting their rights.

In its premiere issue, on sale now, HIGH TIMES Medical Marijuana News and Reviews brings in experts to explain medical cannabis laws state-by-state, including how to get a doctor’s recommendation and medical ID, how to find the best medical marijuana dispensaries near you, how to choose the right strains, hash and edibles once you arrive, and how to get involved in the fight to protect the rights of medical marijuana patients and providers no matter where you live.

Want to be part of the new, green economy in medical marijuana? “Seven Legal Pot Jobs” takes you inside this emerging “growth industry,” while “High Class” pays a visit to Oaksterdam University, America’s first cannabis vocational school. The issuealso includes a cultivation column from Jorge Cervantes, an independent investigation of pot potency, an in depth report on Southern California’s ill-conceived medical marijuana policies, an exclusive interview with Debby Goldsberry of the Berkeley Patient’s Group, and the latest medical marijuana news nationwide.

With contributions from Americans for Safe Access, NORML, Dr, Lester Grinspoon, Rick Doblin, Valerie Corral, Steve D’Angelo, and other leaders of the medical cannabis movement, HIGH TIMES Medical Marijuana News and Reviews arrives at selected newsstands and finer bookstores on Feb 2. Ask for it wherever you see HIGH TIMES sold.

In Ohio and Florida, It will be up in the 2012 ballot. Test states for legalized Cannabis will be adopted at the end of the 2010. Test runs will last for two years to study the effect's of legalized Cannabis in California. Then Nevada and so on. But Ohio and flordia will have their turn to vote in 2012. Untill then you are a criminal.

I got one of the first issues that came out in 1974. I had just finished high school and was very curious about the weed. I've been reading it ever since. I have only one problem. How can marijuana be so dangerous, if it's medically beneficial, it's like asprin. I bet if ya ate a handful of asprin it could really fuck you up.

Marijuana has got a bad rap from day one, all because of the government, drug industry, alcohol industry, these people just don't want NO competition, they lied to protect they're jobs.

If it's so dangerous why hasn't anyone ever died from smoking it, cause it's all been a bunch of government propaganda. And the government wonders why the people won't trust them, Duh! CAUSE THEY LIE.

I've been smoking "pot", since 1974 and it's never caused me any problems. I've always be descreat, and kept it to myself, cause I knowed it was against the law. Now that it's becoming more legal than I ever thought I'd see it become, I don't see why the government is dragging it's feet about legalizing it clear across the board, so we can all enjoy the benefits it has to offer. You can rest asure they will get their 2% out of the deal, and give themselfs a BIG raise the first chance they get, like they need more money, Duh!

Man it's sooo close to being legal I can feel it. Im from a small town in Northern California and I never thought we would have a cannabis club down here because my town is a big tourist attraction and our town doesnt want too many people seeing it but they are about to open up a Cannibs Club in the next few weeks. It is the best time to be a cannabis smoker right now. I love it and its getting that much closer to being legal everyday!!!!!!!!!!!! So keep a smile on your face people!!!!!!!! ONE LOVE

Hey Sativa,
Its called Ohio S.B. 343. It was said to be on ballot for this years legislation but I've read that it has been continuesly set back since as early as 2006. If it happens again this year then look for it on the 2011 ballot as well. So far the only one supporting it is Roberts Miller, D. So in my opinion, we in Ohio, should hit this guy up with as much support and try to move this thing through!!

i live in san francisco and am able to grow my own.
the times i needed to purchase my cannabis from others i drove up the coast for a couple of hours and paid 450.00 usa dollars for a qp of very decent skunk bud.
in san franciso, or at least the places i am familiar with.., a 28 gram sac of decent bud goes for 275.00 - 300.00.

If the voters initiative passes in November, all this talk about "medical marijuana" and all this controversy over dispensaries will evaporate. Because the exorbitant profits in m/m will be gone and most of the "patients" will stop paying for a medical card and just buy the commercial strains sold in the stores. It might take 2 joints to reach the "medicated" stage the patient is used to now,but it won't cost $50 or more for 1/8 of an ounce. Give me a break!!!!!
It cost less than $200 to produce a lb of indoor marijuana, organically grown and these "compassionate" dispensaries are selling it for appx $6400 a lb.
It is living proof that most of the people in California have more dollars than sense. No wonder their state budget is imploding.
