In his High Times interview, Doug spoke to how legalization has made weed comedy less taboo.
“Along the way in my career, as more and more I made marijuana a part of my act and my life, the more I’d hear from people saying, like, well, part of the reason that everybody likes it so much is because of the excitement of it not being legal.”
Doug explained that people are still no less excited to talk about marijuana because more people are smoking weed than ever before. He mentioned that what happens after his shows is typically his favorite part.
“The greatest thing that still exists is that if it is at all possible for me to step outside the club into some sort of alley or something after the show […] pretty much every show I do there are some people out there and we have a nice little session.”
