A Los Angeles company will be hosting an Easter party including a hunt for eggs with a cannabis surprise inside. More than 1,000 Easter eggs will be hidden at a yet to be disclosed private residence in Hollywood, with each containing a bud of one of 60 different cannabis strains. Information about the varieties of herb will also be available and each egg will also have a letter to collect to spell out words that win a prize, including a $1,000 vacation for two courtesy of product sponsor Smartweed Hollywood.

The Easter Nug Hunt, as the event is billed, will be held on Easter Sunday at a private home with a quintessentially LA backdrop, including a view of the famous Hollywood sign. The catered party is the brainchild of Rollan Burns, the co-founder of event host Weed Bus LA. Burns told High Times that he has been patiently waiting to throw this party for a long time.

“This is an event idea that I’ve had for five years but I’ve just been sitting on it because I’ve been waiting for Easter to fall on 4/20 weekend,” Burns said.

Burns says that before he moved to Los Angeles a year ago he produced events with a cannabis theme for five years in Denver, where he hosted munchie crawls, sushi and joint rolling classes, and various pot industry tours. He says that the competition has been quick to copy his most popular ideas, so he likes to come up with new ideas for one-time-only events.

“I always try to do one-offs because I’m really about entertaining people and having them back again,” says Burns. “I really want a strong, solid, local market to have fun events.”

The Easter Nug will be catered with food and beverages and will offer up to 100 guests the chance to vie for their share of $5,000 worth of prizes. Early-bird registration, open now until March 10, will get you in for $59. After that, guests can attend for $99 each, with tickets available until they sell out.

Burns noted that between now and April 10 visitors to the Weed Bus LA website can register to win a vacation for two valued at $1,000 that includes two tickets to the Easter Nug Hunt. Weed Bus LA is also a licensed transportation company that offers cannabis 4/20 friendly airport pickups, party buses, and private cars, lodging, and even bookings for cannabis chefs.

The Easter Nug Hunt takes place Sunday, April 21 from 1-5 p.m. More information is available at the Weed Bus La website or by calling (855) WEED-BUS.
