Saturday Night Live returned for its 42nd season this past weekend, and while we were busy waiting for our favorite stoner cast member to make an appearance, we almost missed Margot Robbie rocking some reefer during her opening monologue.
The Australian actress, known for her roles in The Wolf of Wall Street, Suicide Squad and 2016’s Tarzan, had the honor of hosting Saturday’s season premiere, and she kicked it off in style—high-fashion, stoner style—wearing a piece from Alexander Wang’s marijuana-inspired Fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection. Robbie’s dress featured lace cannabis leaves embroidered on the front of its faux-leather skirt.
Wang’s “Runway Long Sleeve Dress with Lace Leaf Embroidery” is only available at his flagship stores in New York and London, but a leafless version is available for a smokin’ $1995 on Nordstroms.com.
According to Fashionista, we have “stylist Kate Young’s expert eye and Robbie’s willingness to take red carpet risks” to thank for this dank AF dress choice.
While Robbie hasn’t publicly discussed her feelings about weed, her subtle nod to our favorite herb shows just how much the cannabis movement has progressed into the mainstream. And with nine states about to vote on marijuana reform, we only see greener pastures ahead.
