Music Monday: Demrick’s New Track, ‘Pass The Blunt’

Yes, he just dropped a joint EP with producer Scoop Deville at this year’s High Times Cannabis Cup, but that doesn’t mean Demrick’s taking it easy. His long-awaited, first official album, Losing Focus, was released last week by Battle Axe Records, and High Times has the exclusive on his new track “Pass The Blunt.”

“On the song I tried to tap into the stresses and pains of life and the reasons why I blaze up daily,” Demrick explained. “I wrote [the first line of the song] because my whole life is created off of dreaming, and marijuana has played a big part in helping create those dreams.”

But the song isn’t just about him. Demrick said his inspiration stemmed from wondering why different people smoke.

“I also wanted to touch on the fact that when you blaze a blunt or a joint in a cypher, everybody has their own reasons for why they’re getting high,” he said. “We’re all in the cypher together smoking, and we all have our own problems.”

In his own words, Demrick’s music is about “blazing up and enjoying life,” so light up and check out “Pass The Blunt.”

You can follow Demrick on Twitter and Facebook and get his info at iamdemrick.com. His new album is available on iTunes.
