The Boys delivered a soundtrack that defined a generation, with druggy anthems like “Car Thief” (I don’t buy cheeba I grow it/ Marijuana/ People always trying to get next to me/ I had a beautiful experience on Ecstasy) alongside funky tracks like “Shake Your Rump” and “Hey Ladies.” Released on July 25, 1989, the album solidified the Beastie Boys’ status as critical favorites in the hip-hop world.
