A few months back, psychedelic rockers Sisters of Your Sunshine Vapor blew us away with “Desert Brain,” the title track off their latest album. Now, they’re back with a brand-new video for it – and it’s a doozy! Says the band:
“Earlier this summer we released our third and most ambitious album, Desert Brain. We have never done a music video, but since this was a banner year for new experiences we decided to put something together for the title song off of the new record. The song is over 7 minutes long, but with the help of filmmakers Nathan Hartwick and Hans Lhlemfeldt, we managed to shoot the whole thing in one day.
The video was shot in a really old industrial space in Detroit called The Russel Industrial Complex. We were very inspired by Stanley Kubrick, and wanted to capture the haunting dim hallways in a very similar fashion to some of his work in movies like The Shining. The video starts in plain black & white but watch closely because things start to change very subtly throughout the song. High Times readers may enjoy that fact that In the first scene we were actually about 40 feet from a huge grow operation which smelled exactly like one of our practice sessions.”
Without further ado, here’s the video!
