An Orange Is The New Black actor speaks out against the drug war. He guest stars on an upcoming episode of Cannabis Planet. Don’t watch Orange Is The New Black? Never heard of Cannabis Planet? Keep reading.

Orange Is The New Green?

Fans of Orange Is the New Black will be excited to see a familiar face on TV this weekend. In the upcoming episode of the weekly educational program Cannabis Planet, Matt Peters will make a guest appearance!

On Netflix’s lauded original series Orange Is The New Black, Peters portrays Corrections Officer Joel Luscheck. His character on the show admits to being a drug enthusiast and also sometime-middleman for a dealer. But an important distinction between Luscheck and the female inmates over whom he has authority and power is that the police never catch him doing or consuming anything incriminating.

On this weekend’s episode of Cannabis Planet, the Orange Is The New Black actor speaks out against the drug war. Peters will join former law enforcement officers in a discussion about the War on Drugs in the United States. Specifically, the discussion will focus on the hypocrisy and failure of the drug war.

In a sneak preview of the episode, Peters introduces himself and immediately states, “I think the criminalization of cannabis is very stupid.”

Cannabis Planet

Cannabis Planet is a weekly TV show that is dedicated to educating viewers about—you guessed it—the cannabis plant. Developed by Brad Lane, Cannabis Planet debuted back in 2009 on the Los Angeles channel KDOC-TV. Today, it airs in only a few select states and cities.

The program covers every aspect of cannabis, including industrial hemp. Cannabis Planet even has different segments dedicated to various subjects, like entertainment, cooking, news and tips for growing healthy plants. In the cities in which it is available, it was recently granted a prime time spot!

Final Hit: Orange Is The New Black Actor Speaks Out Against The Drug War

While we all know that America’s so-called “War on Drugs” is a total failure, this weekend’s episode of Cannabis Planet will definitely be worth the watch. Even when you fancy yourself an expert on a subject, or at least well-versed, it’s always a good idea to continue to educate yourself. When you continue to consume media about things that interest you, you expose yourself to fresh perspectives, new ideas and innovative solutions.

In the case of federal cannabis prohibition, it can even be a cathartic experience hearing other people discuss it. There is solidarity in passion, and there is no shortage of passion when it comes to cannabis.

“I think it’s ridiculous to incarcerate anyone for using a plant, something that half our population has admitted to doing,” Peters says in the program.

We agree with Matt Peters. And we can’t wait to see what else he says.
