Oscar Nominees Received Vape Pens in Gift Bags

This year’s Oscar losers may not have taken home golden statues on Sunday night, but by no means did they go home empty-handed.

According to Vanity Fair, consolation prizes this year were the most extravagant ever, valued at $168,000, and included: free Silvercar Audi rentals for a year, a $12,500 luxury camping (glamping) vacation, a train trip on the Rocky Mountaineer, a nine-night Italian vacation, $4,000 worth of liposuction, a $1,200 Matrone bicycle, L.E.D. light therapy, $25,000 in custom furniture and a $20,000 gift certificate to meet Enigma Life founder Olessia Kantor.

But that wasn’t all. Online financial magazine MainStreet reported that this year’s non-winners also found a top-of-the-line Haze Vaporizer in their gift bags. Haze Technologies marketing manager Jason Azurmendi, said he felt privileged that their product, valued at $250, was included in these prestigious Hollywood swag bags.

“Our presence as a counter culture industry in front of a mainstream audience, such as the Oscars, establishes the realization of the distance that both the vaping industry and marijuana industry have gone to making their mark as legitimate businesses and, more importantly, way of life,” Azurmendi said.

The 21 gift bags, assembled by Distinctive Assets, also included a $250 laser vibrator, a sampling of  “the world’s only luxury condom,” a $20,000 astrology reading and an $8,000 custom candy and dessert buffet… all of which might pair nicely with the vape pens.
