Oxford Dictionary Names “Vape” the Word of the Year for 2014

Marijuana continued its march into the mainstream this Monday when the editors at Oxford Dictionaries declared “vape” to be their word of the year for 2014. It’s defined as both a verb (“to inhale and exhale the vapour produced by an electronic cigarette or similar device”) and as a noun (to describe the e-cigarette itself). Among the other terms considered for inclusion in the English language reference tome of note was another word from the world of weed, “budtender.”
