A 16-year-old Arizona teen was arrested Sunday for allegedly trying to smuggle 185 pounds of marijuana into the United States from Mexico.
According to local reports, the girl was traveling with two other women when they were stopped by U.S. Customs and Border Protection while driving through a checkpoint at the Port of Lukeville. A narcotics detection dog at the border crossing reportedly picked out the vehicle for a secondary search.
Officers examined the car and found 12 packages of weed worth an estimated $92,550.
Both the drugs and the car were seized, the Daily Mail reported. The three subjects, who have not been named, have been referred to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
