3. “Roseanne”

The theme of this cannabis-related episode of “Roseanne” is a hyper-exaggerated depiction of memory loss and hallucinatory paranoia. The memory loss and paranoia start before anyone even sparks up, as Roseanne and Dan are completely clueless about where this stash of herb came from, failing to remember that it’s actually theirs.

It only gets worse as characters actually start smoking. Roseanne blabs on about imaginary birds. Jackie wanders around with a blanket for no apparent reason, and then shows up in the bathtub muttering stuff like: “Is this the sink?” “Am I shrinking?” and “It’s just me and my ganja.” Basically, this episode is just a depiction of stoner stereotypes.
