$10 Million At Stake for Cannabis Companies on ‘The Marijuana Show’

The cannabis industry meets “Shark Tank” on the reality web series, “The Marijuana Show,” and the competition just got a bit more intense.

Last year—after the first season of the show was announced—200 applications flooded in from ganjapreneurs looking to turn their ideas or small enterprises into fully fledged companies.

“We couldn’t believe the amount of interest,” the show’s co-creator Wendy Robbins told Forbes.

In fact, season one did so well that a bigger and better season two is on the way.

“In season one we would have someone with an idea to open up a dispensary,” Robbins continued, “while in season two we’d have a contestant looking into how to expand their existing dispensary business or bring their brand name into another state.”

And it not just the contestants’ businesses that have grown—this season, 10 million dollars of funding is available to competitors, twice as much as last year.

Season two is slated to launch this October.
