High Times is bringing Oklahoma its first-ever Cannabis Cup event. Here's what you can expect.
In the world of cannabis parties and events, there is nothing more well-known and active than High Times‘ own Cannabis Cup event series. In fact, these wide-ranging celebrations of all things cannabis have exploded in recent years to become a global phenomenon, with events spanning the U.S., Canada, Europe, and more.
New to this year’s lineup is the first-ever Oklahoma Cannabis Cup. In preparation for the fast-approaching event, High Times has just announced the musical headliner—along with tons of information about what will be happening at the event. Here’s what you’re in store for, Oklahoma.
Today, High Times announced that Slightly Stoopid will be headlining the Oklahoma Cannabis Cup.
Hailing from Ocean Beach, California, the band is no stranger to cannabis and cannabis culture. In fact, since the release of their first studio album in 1996, Slightly Stoopid has become something of a mainstay in the marijuana scene. In particular, the band is noted for creating music that spans multiple genres including folk, reggae, rock, and more.
Along with Slightly Stoopid, the Oklahoma Cannabis Cup has a huge lineup of events, activities, and vendors. As it’s Oklahoma’s first Cannabis Cup, organizers are expecting a huge turnout.
“We’re proud to bring Oklahoma City its first-ever official Cannabis Cup event this summer, with prominent musical talent and hundreds of vendors including an array of brands across the cannabis landscape,” said High Times CEO Kraig Fox. “Events like the Oklahoma Cannabis Cup are integral in bringing together the local community of cannabis enthusiasts, medical users, and brands in one place, while providing us with the ability to collaborate and connect with key leaders in the industry across the country.”
The Oklahoma Cannabis Cup will take place at the Lost Lakes Amphitheater in Oklahoma City on August 24 and 25. Tickets to the event are now available online at the Cannabis Cup website.
Importantly, the event is being sponsored by a handful of leading cannabis companies and organizations.
This includes New Leaf Medicinals, a Chickasha-based medical marijuana provider focused on providing top-shelf products and genetics to meet patients’ needs.
Additionally, Lotus Gold Dispnesary/CBD Plus USA is also sponsoring the Cannabis Cup. With 38 stores across Oklahoma, Lotus Gold Dispensary/CBD Plus USA aims to educate the general public, consumers, and medical professionals about the benefits of medical-grade THC products.
Along with Slightly Stoopid and other musical acts, attendees at the Oklahoma Cannabis Cup can experience:
In keeping with Oklahoma medical marijuana laws, if you want to check out cannabis vendors and their products, you will need to have a valid Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Recommendation.
Please note that out of state recommendations are not accepted in Oklahoma. If you need to get your recommendation, event organizers recommend doing so no later than August 2, as it typically takes 15 business days to complete the process.
According to event organizers, you can get your recommendation through Chronic Rx Solutions. And if you enter code ‘HIGH TIMES’ you’ll receive a discount.
People without a valid recommendation can still party in the event’s General Area. However, they won’t be able to go into the exhibitor village.
