Over a year ago, the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe created a safe and legal space to buy and enjoy cannabis. In fact, the Vegas Tasting Room is the only legal space to publicly consume cannabis within Las Vegas city limits. And from December 11 – 14, the Tasting Room will serve as the venue for the state’s only legal consumption event: the High Times Cannabis Cup — Nevada 2019.

Global cannabis brand High Times, in partnership with NuWu Cannabis Marketplace and the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe, is bringing the famous Cannabis Cup back to Las Vegas. And because this year’s event will take place in a legal public consumption venue, attendees will be able to purchase and consume cannabis as they hang out with professional athletes, celebrities, industry legends and more. Even better? Entry is totally free.

Recreational cannabis is legal in Nevada. But consuming cannabis is still illegal in every hotel and venue in the state. Except, that is, for the Vegas Tasting Room. The NuWu Cannabis Marketplace, owned by the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe, recently opened the Vegas Tasting Room for adult consumers 21 and over. The marketplace itself has been in business since October 2017.

NuWu is Nevada’s largest retail cannabis store, spanning almost 16,000 square feet and offering nearly 1,000 cannabis products to consumers. The NuWu Marketplace, replete with a drive-thru window, serves somewhere between 2,000 to 3,000 cannabis consumers every day. And for over a year, tourists and local residents alike have taken advantage of the Vegas Tasting Room’s upscale and friendly environment to enjoy their weed.

Las Vegas Cannabis Cup to Feature Over 50 Nevada Cannabis Brands

High Times’ Nevada Cannabis Cup, held from December 11 to 14, will be a headline event at this year’s MJBizCon. And it will be the only public consumption event that members of the industry and consumers alike will be able to attend while in town for the conference.

At the Las Vegas Cannabis Cup, over 50 Nevada-based brands will vie for glory as the best of the state’s cannabis industry. And throughout the event, attendees will be able to buy and consume hundreds of cannabis products. Featured highlights of the Cannabis Cup include smoke sessions with professional athletes like Floyd Mayweather and Mike Tyson, gourmet food trucks, media events and more.

This year’s High Times Cannabis Cup Nevada will provide a more up-close and personal experience than ever before. And best of all, the event is completely free and open to the public. Space will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and VIP tickets are also available.

The Cannabis Cup will highlight product competitions and an Award Show, so there won’t be performances at the event itself. However, as MJBizCon winds down, High Times will be presenting its 3rd annual Biz Bash After Party at the Brooklyn Bowl, including a farewell performance by none other than George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic.

All anyone interested in this year’s only public cannabis consumption event in Las Vegas needs to do is show up at the NuWu Marketplace with their I.D. The event runs from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. December 11–14. Anyone interested in becoming a vendor or a competitor can email advertising@hightimes.com.
