Legalization is on the ballot in Massachusetts come Nov. 8, and the polls for reform look good.
But money is pouring into the state—as it is in several other battlegrounds—and the anti-pot forces are heading for the gutter.
The money is going to ads like this one, which reduces one the most beautiful states of the union to a seedy streetscape of grimy pot shops and flashing police lights.
The griminess here is of course misplaced; alcohol is sold in every grocery store and street corner and the Commonwealth’s children have still managed to grow up and in a few cases even make something of themselves.
We almost feel sorry for the mom, but not as much as for poor Kevin. Boy, is he busted!
