Two employees at a Washington fast food joint are out of a job after accepting dabs in exchange for food.
According to KOMO News, Jonah Tacoma, a known marijuana advocate, was ordering food at the drive-thru window of Frugals when he offered to pay for his burger and fries with a dab instead of cash.
He was told ‘Yeah, sure,’ and his friend began to film as they pulled up to the next window. The video, which shows two employees and Tacoma dabbing, was held for a month at the request of the workers, but on May 11, Tacoma posted it on YouTube.
Frugals’ management was notified of the video by a customer, and both employees were immediately terminated.
“Frugals has a zero tolerance drug policy in the workplace, and we in no way condone the type of conduct captured,” Laurie Macarty, Financial Manager for Frugals, said in statement to KOMO News.
Tacoma, who runs Dabstars, is using the video’s popularity to help promote marijuana legalization.
“I don’t think we put them in jeopardy,” he said. “I think they chose to participate. The reality is we are making a statement.”
