A North Carolina police officer at the Veterans Administration in Salisbury has been accused of growing 11 cannabis plants. The kicker? He reportedly was using water from a town fire hydrant.
According to WBTV, the Mocksville Police Department issued a warrant for 33-year-old Thomas Daniel Gaskins, who had previously worked as a Brunswick County deputy. The warrant alleges that Gaskins grew the plants between June 10 and June 13.
While investigators searching Gaskins‘ home found a closet grow room and a small amount of pot, no marijuana was found growing, nor was there evidence that the room had been used, according to deputies. WBTV reports that Gaskins was charged with possession of marijuana.
