4 Times Donald Trump Flip-Flopped On His Marijuana Policy

“…in some ways, I think it’s good and in other ways, it’s bad…I know people that have serious problems… and it really, really does help them.” (On The O’Reilly Factor segment, 2016)

Donald Trump wins by saying really confusing things like this. More shocking, he rolled two opposite points into one phrase here.

In one breath, he shows that he knows cannabis has benefits.

In the next, he’s red flagging so he won’t appear in favor.

“The marijuana thing is such a big thing. I think medical should happen — right? Don’t we agree? I think so. And then I really believe we should leave it up to the states. It should be a state situation…but I believe that the legalization of marijuana – other than for medical because I think medical, you know I know people that are very, very sick and for whatever reason the marijuana really helps them – …but in terms of marijuana and legalization, I think that should be a state issue, state-by-state.” (At a 2015 campaign rally)

Again, take a look at the words. He both thinks “medical should happen.”

But he won’t attach himself to that cause at all, leaving the choice to state government.

Since legal cannabis varies so wildly from state to state, his hands-off steering puts that decision with Jeff Sessions.

He’s the same attorney general who wants to give drug dealers the death penalty.
