From the live musical performances to the rides, slides and—oh yeah—the massive quantities of recreational marijuana for sale, there will be plenty to do at the Central Valley Cannabis Cup this weekend in Sacramento. This will be like no cannabis event California has ever seen before as High Times (the website you’re currently reading) will host the first-ever licensed recreational cannabis event in the state. The Central Valley Cannabis Cup will be a two-day event going on from May 4-5 at the Cal Expo Fairgrounds, here are 10 reasons to start getting stoked now.

It’s the First Fully Licensed Recreational Cannabis Event

The Sacramento City Council approved the consumption and sale of cannabis at our venue by a 6-2 vote and, as a result, High Times will host the first permitted event for on-site consumption in the state since the recreational laws were implemented.

With the amount of recreational cannabis at the event, there’s no chance of you coming down. That is unless you stop by the super slide while super high. The thrill is a good pick me up for when you’re feeling couch-locked.

One of our favorite parts of the cannabis cup is walking onto the Ferris Wheel with a joint lit. Get high while riding in the sky and soaking in the view. The ferris wheel is a great way to scope out the event from above.
