7. Shaggy (Scooby-Doo)

It’s a common theory among fans of both cannabis and Scooby-Doo that this is one of the iconic cartoon characters who smoke weed.

Shaggy seemed to have all the characteristics of a stereotypical weed smoker. In fact, he always sounds like a far-out hippie. He says “like” a lot as if he’s trying to remember what he was going to say next.

The only two characters on the show with insatiable appetites were the dog and the rail-thin Shaggy. The guy eats things like a “double triple decker sardine and marshmallow fudge sandwich.”

You’d have to be high out of your mind to even come up with such a combination.

In one scene of Scooby-Doo, Shaggy and Scooby are the only two characters wearing pots as hats, making them literal potheads.

Another scene showed Shaggy and Scooby in the mystery van with smoke pouring out the top. The scene played out like they were hotboxing The Mystery Machine.

It shows them grilling up food in the van to innocently explain the smoke. However, detectives begin banging on the van door which prompts the two to freak the fuck out as if they had drugs to hide.

That’s the reaction we’d expect from a pair that just hotboxed the whip.

Final Hit: Top 7 Cartoon Characters Who Smoke Weed

Cartoon creators have made sure the stereotypical stoner archetype wasn’t left out of some of our favorite animated programs.

If you’re looking for more cartoon characters who smoke weed, there are plenty of other family-friendly tv shows that are secretly for stoners.
