Hip-hop artist and pot enthusiast G.R.A.M.Z. has released the first song and accompanying music video from his upcoming album “Escape from NY,” which was “conceived and born amongst LA’s warm weather and sticky greens.”
Aptly titled “John Carpenter,” the video takes the sunny, golden image of Los Angeles and flips it on its head. G.R.A.M.Z. steps into Kurt Russell’s shoes and channels his inner Snake Plissken to create a world in which the director would be completely comfortable.
“G.R.A.M.Z. takes us on a quick tour of this darker version of the city while the track thumps; the palm trees are ominous, the streets are vacant, and no one is giving a fuck about anything,” Noisy wrote.
So, lay back, light one up and watch “John Carpenter.” “Escape from New NY” is expected to drop this Summer.
