Wiz Khalifa Announces Exclusive New Cannabis Line

Marijuana enthusiast and Grammy-nominated recording artist Wiz Khalifa announced on Thursday that he has partnered with Colorado-based RiverRock Cannabis to produce an exclusive line of cannabis products. Although he recently renewed his partnership with RAW Rolling Papers, this is his first actual foray into the legal marijuana market. Later that night, he dropped a new album, Khalifa, on iTunes.

Khalifa, who's set to perform Friday night at the 2016 SoCal Medical Cannabis Cup in San Bernardino, said in a statement that he hopes his work with RiverRock will help end the stigmatization of pot.

“These products have taken years to perfect,” Khalifa said in a statement.  “I’m really excited to finally share them with the public and to work with RiverRock to raise awareness and end cannabis prohibition nationwide.”

The collaboration with RiverRock will include the creation and manufacture of Wiz Khalifa-curated strains, infused products and concentrates, which are set to begin rolling out April 20.

“It’s been a pleasure working with Wiz to create these products not only because of his respect for the plant, but also because of his commitment to political reform,” RiverRock founder Norton Arbelaez said.

Khalifa is by far not the first celeb to join the marijuana game.

Willie Nelson secured funding for his new pot brand back in September, Bethenny Frankel has been developing a strain of weed genetically designed to eliminate the munchies, and Kevin Smith orchestrated the first-ever marijuana tie-in for his movie Tusk. Not to mention the numerous stars with their own vape pens (Khalifa's Taylor Gang Records actually has a vape pen made by Grenco Science, which landed in our 2015 Vape Pen Buyer's Guide).
