Los Angeles, CA – In 2017, 30-year-old serial entrepreneur Cody Alt entered the cannabis industry when he launched PureKana, which specializes in CBD products. Cody and his partner, Jeff Yauck, started PureKana with an $18,000 investment. From that, $5,000 was used to purchase inventory, including CBD oils, lotions and gummies. In the first few months, the operation was modest. Inventory was delivered to Jeff’s small apartment, nearly filling it. Thanks to Cody’s knack for building and designing websites, as well as online marketing, PureKana’s customer base rapidly grew to more than 20,000 in just six months and the initial $18,000 investment was parlayed into monthly sales of $750,000. In just a short seven months, they have become one of the top CBD brands in the market. This week PureKana was ranked number one in CBD oil on marijuanabreak.com, topping giants like Charlotte’s Web and Elixinol, which have been in the marketplace for years. Next PureKana will be launching vapes, dog treats and a skin care line to further separate itself from the pack in 2018.
Kushly
Alt is also proud to announce the launch of his newest venture, Kushly. In February 2018, Kushly will begin offering cannabis-infused edibles (gummies) along with special pre-roll six-packs. Kushly edibles are made using only real fruit.
Kushly will be partnering with dispensaries around the country to sell cannabis products, and will offer a state-of-the-art delivery platform to select dispensaries in California and Arizona. Starting in February, 15-20 jobs will be created for kitchen staff. Kushly will manufacture its own edibles in sativa and indica strains, and will also white-label edibles for companies outside of California and Arizona who do not have licensed facilities to manufacture inside those states. Top cannabis brands from around the country are starting to partner with Kushly to get into the California and Arizona markets. The Kushly facility is a whopping 600,000-square foot greenhouse with a 50,000-square foot extraction lab in Greenfield, California.
Cody Alt Builds CBD Company in 7 Months, Now Launching Cannabis Products
While some may scoff at health and wellness concerns in the cannabis industry, Alt insists that the issue needs to be addressed. He explains, “Too many companies are buying cheap ‘penny candy’ that appeals to minors and spraying them with cannabis oil distillate, which is trash. Kushly’s process results in a far superior product that is intended to appeal to California and Arizona consumers.”
