While the recreational cannabis industry undergoes regulatory growing pains, canna-tourism is starting to take root. Colorado’s got no shortage of tours and 420-friendly hotels, while California’s new marijuana tourist industry offers custom one-of-a-kind private experiences. If you’re seeking elevated adventures, here are six unique cannabis travel experiences to try.

Camp on a Cannabis Farm
HipCamp
Multiple Locations

Weed and the great outdoors go together like, well, weed and the great outdoors. Thanks to HipCamp, it’s easy to find elevated camping experiences on private land with all sorts of interesting, infused amenities.

A quick site search reveals Cannabis Camp in Oregon, which offers an onsite dispensary, and even a cannabis gift basket with your reservation. FarmhouseEnlightenment offers an upscale glamping experience among sungrown pot gardens in California complete with alfresco bathtubs, while this farm lets you pitch a tent for free if you help tend to the bud.

Attend a White Rabbit High Tea Party
White Rabbit High Tea
Los Angeles

Part high-end tea party and part trip down the rabbit hole, these Alice in Wonderland-themed parties occur in various private locations around LA. You need to sign up for a free membership to find out about them—or work with the event production company to throw your own.

Past gatherings have popped up at the stylish Petit Hermitage hotel and a chic garden in the Hollywood Hills. No matter where this Mad Hatter group sets up shop, you can guarantee a stylish, semi-formal good time with delicious food, unique entertainment, and the latest edibles and smokeables from interesting businesses in the cannabis space.

While the food and tea served aren’t infused, guests can sample cannabis products and take home a goody bag from sponsors.

Raid The Standard Hotel Edibles Minibar
The Standard Hotel
Los Angeles

If you prefer a cosmopolitan getaway, it doesn’t get chicer than this West Hollywood boutique hotel, which is partnering with upscale edibles purveyor Lord Jones.

The hotel plans to open an onsite boutique stocked with the artisanal gummies and chocolates in Fall 2018, but guests in the meantime can raid the minibars for a taste of what’s to come.

Lord Jones recently inked a deal to provide hemp-derived CBD edibles for Standard Hotels across the country.

Get Cozy at a Bud and Breakfast
Bud + Breakfast
Denver

Denver’s pioneer in cannabis tourism, Bud + Breakfast, offers the amenities of a boutique hotel, and the camaraderie of a college dorm without the RA, complete with a wake-and-bake complimentary breakfast and a daily happy hour at, you guessed it, 4:20.

The communal fridge is always stocked with munchies and the friendly owners will even help you book a cannabis tour or arrange transportation. If you’re into hanging with other cannatourists and like a little built-in socializing with your getaway, this kitschy B&B is likely right up your alley.

Feast Under the Full Moon in Joshua Tree
Moonlit Moveable Feasts
Joshua Tree

If you’re looking for a transformative travel experience, it doesn’t get more lifted than High Dining Club’s Moonlit Moveable Feasts, which take place only during full moons at secret locations in the Joshua Tree desert.

Part entertainment and part education, the experience creators seek to craft the most interesting dinner party you’ve ever been to by pairing artisanal, locally grown cannabis with mind-expanding entertainment and Joshua Tree’s most interesting characters. Not only are you treated to a three-course meal under the stars, you get to rub elbows with local growers, desert ecology educators, and even sound scientists.

The intimate party—just 44 seats are offered at each feast—allows you to learn about cutting-edge cannabis businesses, partake in small-batch, expertly crafted product, and connect with local characters against Joshua Tree’s magical backdrop.

After dinner, it’s choose-your-own-adventure time: dance under the stars to psychedelic entertainment, have a conversation with the moon thanks to a sound telescope, or simply frolic in the desert contemplating the enhanced connection and consciousness that cannabis can afford.

Take a Tour of the Cannabis World
My 420 Tours
Denver

While educational tours of dispensaries and farms are popping up wherever weed is legal, this Colorado tour company started it all. And there’s no shortage of interesting infused experiences to choose from. Learn how cannabis is cultivated, hone your own craft with a sushi- and joint-rolling class, or a take a workshop that gets you cooking with the plant.

Like a little less activity with your cannabis activities? An infused massage may be more your speed. The natural cannabis-infused lotions won’t get you high, but they will soothe your muscles and deliver the therapeutic effects of topical cannabinoids.

You can even book an all-inclusive vacation package to get the full canna-tourist experience in Denver. Packages include a two-night stay in a 420-friendly hotel and elevated experiences, such as a buzzed walking tour of Denver’s street art, or an urban winery tour through the vibrant RiNo Arts District.
