Miley Cyrus Ranks How High She Was During Various Times in Her Life

On yesterday’s episode of  The Late Late Show with James Corden, Miley Cyrus participated in the popular “Carpool Karaoke” segment, and in it, she ranks how high she was during various points of her life. And her career! She also said that a turning point in her life was her notorious dance with fellow singer Robin Thicke during the 2013 VMAs. The turning point wasn’t drug-related at all–she explained how it amped up her activism because she realized how much people talked about her actions.

Cannabis Karaoke?

In case you’re somehow unfamiliar with the smash hit segment-turned-YouTube series “Carpool Karaoke,” we’ll explain the premise.

Host James Corden picks up various celebrities in a car, drives them around a bit and they sing in the car together. In between songs, he interviews them.

Simple right?

It is, but it’s so much fun to watch, rewatch and binge watch. In previous episodes, Corden sings with household names like Lady Gaga, Adele and Ed Sheeran.

During this latest episode, Corden picked up Miley Cyrus.

In addition to being a musician, actress and coach on The VoiceCyrus is pretty famous for her love of weed. She’s been in the media (read: tabloids and celebrity gossip websites) for lighting up a joint onstage, being caught on video smoking out of a bong and even hosting a weed-themed birthday party sponsored by Snoop Dogg.

Recently, though, Cyrus has changed her tune.

She no longer smokes weed, although she has maintained that she harbors no ill-will towards the plant. Now, she’s eight months weed-free and seems totally fine to joke about her past usage.

The Ranking

In between karaoke songs (her own hit tunes, including “Malibu,” “Wrecking Ball” and “Party In The USA”), Miley Cyrus ranked on a scale of one to 10 how high she was when she first listened to her father’s (Billy Ray Cyrus) signature song “Achy Breaky Heart,” when she filmed the music video for her hit single “Wrecking Ball,” and during her infamous VMAs performance where she twerked on Robin Thicke.

Although she admitted to being at a solid 10 during the filming of “Wrecking Ball,” she says that she was never able to get stoned before a live performance. She cited stage fright as the reasoning. Pretty legit, if you ask us. So that means she was stone cold sober when she twerked on Thicke.

As for the first time that she listened to “Achy Breaky Heart”? Sober as well. She says she wishes she was high though. “Big time,” she added with a laugh.

Final Hit: Miley Cyrus Ranks How High She Was During Various Points of Her Life

Miley Cyrus famously smoked weed, and now she famously doesn’t smoke weed. She doesn’t seem to regret her past relationship with Mary Jane, though. And, as she has stated in some previous interviews, her break-up with MJ isn’t necessarily permanent. She answered Corden’s questions about her heavy cannabis usage and played along with his ranking game pretty enthusiastically. Cyrus even joked that hotboxing the car would make the whole experience a lot better. No arguing on that one, Miley!
