Natural Cannabis Company Announces 2nd Annual High Art Challenge

The Natural Cannabis Company is launching its second annual High Art challenge, an international design competition to develop product packaging for Natural Cannabis Company’s product lines. The annual event, now in its second year, follows a robust global artistic response to High Art 2014, as over 400 artists from seven continents submitted designs in hopes of winning the top prize and one-year product feature. Hosted by Juxtapoz magazine, the artistic theme for this year’s contest is “Shapes, Patterns, Doodles, Sacred Geometry, Time and Numbers.” Entries will be accepted from now until March 9 at 4:20 pm PST.

“The first annual High Art challenge brought together an international community of artists and cannabis enthusiasts, and reflected the global cannabis movement,” said Dona Frank, President of The Natural Cannabis Company. “Selecting the winner was the real challenge as we were overwhelmed with the quality of the art we received from every corner of the globe. The positive response to last year’s submissions has compelled and inspired us to reach new heights with High Art 2015, and we look forward to seeing all the incredible art for this year’s event.”

The grand prize winner will receive a $5,000 cash prize and a MacBook Pro. In addition, the winning art will be showcased in High Art materials and Natural Cannabis Company product packaging for a one-year period. The second place winner will receive $2,500 and a MacBook Pro, and the third place winner will receive a cash prize of $1,500.

In addition to the design challenge, plans are underway to develop several new aspects to High Art 2015—including a touring exhibition of “High Art” hosted at select art museums and venues throughout the country and world, High Art inspired merchandise and reprints, and continued projects throughout the year in conjunction with the High Art artists community.

New for 2015, the challenge will be judged in part by a select number of esteemed editorial panelists and notables from within the industry. The 2015 panel includes Evan Pricco, Editor-in-Chief from Juxtapoz magazine, David Downs from the industry blog Smell the Truth, MasterBong, and Mz. Jill.
