TV isn't always entirely accurate. Especially about drugs. These are some of the worst portrayals of weed in television shows.
This scene is a bit more nuanced. At the very least, it talks pretty realistically about how many people—professional football players in this case—would benefit from medical cannabis instead of prescription painkillers. But things start to fall off the rails when the characters tour the edibles kitchen at this production site.
At this point, the guy who apparently runs the facility gets super sloppy. He lets these guys pocket a handful of edibles saying: “Nobody’s watching, sure.”
Anyone who knows about the legal weed scene knows that this is a bad move. Edibles have been particularly controversial, as opponents of legal weed regularly try to say that edibles put kids at great risk. It’s actually used as a reason to keep weed illegal.
It’s incredibly irresponsible for a legal production site to start handing out edibles just because “nobody’s watching.” In fact, it’s the kind of move that could easily get a company shut down. Further, it would add fuel to the fire of anti-weed pundits around the country.
