It’s that time of year again when the leaves have fallen, plants are harvested, and video game companies start releasing their top games before the Christmas season. Last year, we celebrated the release of the new Xbox One and PlayStation 4 next generation consoles. This year, we are finally scoring the promised games we’ve been waiting for! Here’s our list of hot new video games perfect for stoned gamers!

Assassin’s Creed Unity

Assassin’s Creed from Ubisoft, takes you to Paris during the French Revolution. You play as Arno, an assassin unlike any you’ve played before. With new weapons and upgraded stealth abilities, you can create and customize your character with optimal freedom. Probably the most exciting change within Assassin’s Creed Unity offers impressive online multiplayer ability! You can complete missions or pull heists with up to three other players! This is the first AC title to offer this important and expected experience. The game is available Nov. 11, 2014 on both the Xbox One and PS4.

Sunset Overdrive

A brand-new open-world shooter from Insomniac Games and Microsoft. An energy drink called Overdrive Delirium XT from Fizzco caused mutation in its consumers, wreaking a post-apocalyptic nightmare on the city. This adventure shooter for the Xbox One is filled with unique weapons, unsavory characters, and city-sliding action. With the ability to play online with up to seven other players, kicking ass and leveling up should be a cake walk. Sunset Overdrive is available only on Xbox One.

Costume Quest 2

From Double Fine and Midnight City, Costume Quest 2 is definitely a stoner favorite. Halloween and all its festivities have been banned, so you must travel back in time to save the day. Wren and Reynold take on hygiene-obsessed enemies in this adorable role playing game. Be prepared for the candy-craving munchies that are sure to ensue. This title is currently available on the Xbox One and PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

This is one of the most anticipated games of the season. This futuristic war game takes place in 2054, as the world is imploding thanks to terroristic attacks. The eleventh game in the Call of Duty franchise offers new holographic weapon displays, laser and energy powered guns, as well as ammo recharging capabilities. The weapon customization from Call of Duty: GHOSTS is thankfully a part of the new design. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is available Nov. 4, 2014 on both the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, and PS3.

Grand Theft Auto V

Even though this game is only a next-gen upgrade, the release of Grand Theft Auto V for the new consoles is long overdue. The original release of the game mirrored the release of the next gen consoles. Fans were disappointed the game was made for the Xbox 360 and PS3. Stoners can finally experience GTA V and all the criminal activity Los Santos has to offer without having to pull out their old system. The upgraded version will include new weapons, new vehicles, new missions, and returning players will receive bonus content and exclusive vehicles. Multiplayer crews can have up to 30 players, 10 more than the original release. Both the Xbox One and PS4 versions will be released Nov. 18, 2014.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Dragon Age: Inquisition is a magical role-playing masterpiece from BioWare and Electronic Arts. This beautifully detailed game will make stoned gamers feel as if they’ve transported in a mysterious realm with flaming sword fights and intense battles. As with previous Dragon Age titles, you can customize your character based on race and class. The game offers 10 large locations to explore similar to an open world. With over 150 hours of gameplay between missions and side missions, you’ll be in stoned gamer heaven. Dragon Age: Inquisition is available Nov. 18, 2014 on the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, and  PS3.

With such an incredible list of new games, it’s hard to decide which release to pick up first. One thing is very certain. Waiting until Christmas to play these titles will be impossible!
