Lauren Hoover: Colorado Budtender In Critical Condition Following Crash

[UPDATE: Lauren has passed away. Please keep checking on the link below for any updates to her fund. The staff of HIGH TIMES sends our deepest condolences to her friends and family.]

If you saw the CNN series High Profits, which documented Colorado’s cannabis industry, then you probably saw Lauren Hoover, a young lady who espoused cannabis as part of her healthy lifestyle. In the series, she was featured doing yoga inn the snow.

Lauren is a popular budtender in Colorado ski country. I met her at the Breckenridge Cannabis Club and photographed her for a feature in HIGH TIMES that covered the Rocky Mountain cannabis business scene (“Colorado Conquest” Aug. 2014).

Tragically, on March 2, Lauren was involved in a head-on auto collision on her way to her job as a budtender at the High Country Healing dispensary in Silverthorne. She has suffered severe brain damage. At this writing, Lauren remains in a coma. It’s estimated that her recovery could take a year or more. The cost of her recovery will be steep, estimated to cost $500,000 or more. Please donate to Lauren’s crowdfund and keep her in your prayers.
