Padres star infielder Everth Cabrera was booked on driving under the influence of marijuana early Wednesday morning, TMZ reported.
The California Highway Patrol confirmed U.S. border patrol agents initially questioned the 27-year-old near a checkpoint right after midnight on Wednesday. Sensing something they thought to be amiss, CHP was called to come investigate the situation. Officers decided they were sure Cabrera was driving stoned and arrested him before subjecting the MLB star to a blood test which proved he had THC in his system (which we all know if a flawed test).
Cabrera was released into the custody of his mother-in-law later that morning and cited for the offense.
