Massachusetts, get ready for your very own, first-ever People’s Choice Cannabis Cup, coming this year. Known as a hotbed and safe haven for cannabis in New England, the Massachusetts industry is coming back stronger than ever after the COVID shutdown and is getting ready for this groundbreaking competition. If you want to know how to get involved, as well as why this Cup is one to mark your calendar for, look no further.
This year, to keep things safe and compliant, the competition will feature a digital awards show only. Judging is done from home, and there is no live event. And there’s good news—judging is open to everyone who is eligible to purchase cannabis in the state!
The High Times Cannabis Cup Massachusetts: People’s Choice Edition is aimed to identify and award the best cannabis products in all of Massachusetts, all across a wide range of different categories, which are to be judged by the great people of Massachusetts for the state’s premiere Cannabis Cup.
Yes, you read that right. All the selections will be made by the people, so that Massachusetts can truly claim the most worthy winners of the top cannabis across the state.
May the best products win!
Cannabis Cup Submissions and Timeline
Intake for product submissions begins on August 9 and runs through August 11. The Judge Kit goes on-sale across Massachusetts beginning on August 21. Also on August 21, judging begins, running through October 17. Winners will officially be announced on October 24, just in time to make all your essential cannabis purchases for the holiday season.
Categories include Best Indica, Sativa and Hybrid Flower; as well as Pre-Rolls and Infused Pre-Rolls; Indica and Sativa Concentrates; Vape Pens & Cartridges; Edibles, Gummies and Non-Gummies. These categories compare the best flower and other products across the state to see what stands out from the crowd and competition as the champions in each category.
Since 1988, the Cannabis Cup tradition has spread from its humble beginnings in Amsterdam to several state-specific contests spread out across the U.S., eventually becoming synonymous with cannabis lore. Don’t miss your chance to participate as it makes its way to New England and shows exactly what Massachusetts has to offer.
Cannabis Cup Judges’ Kits
This event will be the first-ever competition that is open to the Massachusetts public and will see the largest pool of judges in history. Companies that enter the Massachusetts 2021 High Times People’s Choice Cannabis Cup will get feedback from customers who want to know which flower to smoke, oil to buy or edibles to munch on.
Judge Kits will be available across exclusive dispensaries that are partnering for this opportunity. The judges who receive the kit will get to sample many products and weigh them against the rest to find which offerings truly deliver on all levels. The best will rise to the top and make a name for themselves in the world of Massachusetts cannabis!
