The hobbits in the Shire may require a little maintenance on the hair on their feet, but they do get some things right.
The “little people” living in this community love to pack a bowl of pipeweed. Even Gandalf is seduced by the herb.
Saruman, the dark wizard, criticizes him, “Your love of the halflings’ leaf has clearly slowed your mind.” But he, too, succumbs to the pressure too and ends up puffing on the pipeweed.
